Why do Blessing are Bypassing me? Am I not a christian, by the way?

Think about it: why do some Christians have blessings in their life, and others do not?

There are clear principles in the Holy Bible, which are heeded or not heeded – for blessing or for curse. The strong teaching for this is the 10 commandments: from Exodus chapter 20.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Put God first in everything you pursue in life. Fear the LORD first, first to obey, first to love… Family is not first. Nothing is before the LORD – nothing.

2 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images, or any likeness of any thing… Do not worship or bow down to idols or pictures, or images. Any person that worships idols, hates the LORD, and receives a great curse. Ex.20: 5

3 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain. Do not swear falsely by God’s name: Zechariah 5: 3-4 Swearing has guilt; it has a special curse with it. The curse is like a rotteness.

4 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. The Christian Sabbath is called the Lord’s Day. It is the first day of the week. Look at: Luke 24:1 Acts 20:7
I Corin 16:2 In our time we follow the modern calendar which sets this day as Sunday. This day of rest – after six days of labour – was fixed in Genesis after the work of Creation week was finished. It is a hallowed day.  Exodus 20: 11

5 Honour thy father and thy mother. Ephesians 6: 1 “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.” Our earthly parents might be great sinners – but we must still honour and respect them as much as possible. We obey the Lord first, our parents second – as the verse says: ‘obey your parents in the Lord.’

6 Thou shalt not kill. This includes hatred. This certainly includes abortion.

7 Thou shalt not commit adultery. Matthew 19: 9 Re-marriage while first spouse lives, is adultery. Unfaithfulness in marriage is adultery. This commandment is against sexual impurity, which includes fornication. Sexual sins cause great damage in our life; confess and repent of it.

8 Thou shalt not steal. Stealing has a curse with it: Zechariah 5: 3-4 God requires us to pay back stolen goods. Pay back what you are able– and make apology to the person defrauded. My experience with stealing is that God exacted a restitution from me. I suffered losses, and justly so.

9 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Do not tell lies or gossip about your neighbour. If your false witness has caused problems in their life (ie. trouble with the law of the land), then go to the authourities and confess your false witness, to clear the name of your neighbour.

10 Thou shalt not covet. The meaning of covetousness: is a very strong desire to have someone else’s possessions. The word covet is from cupid; covetousness is very strong – like a sexual desire.I live in a covetous nation where many well-fed Christians are loathe to give 10% of their income to the LORD’s work. God says the devourer will come to my life if I don’t give to the Lord’s work, and my prosperity will be negatively affected. Malachi 3:10-11a.

To follow God’s commandments is to find the way to a life of blessing. When we confess the sins of disobeying the commandments of the LORD, we then ask God for forgiveness. We can receive forgiveness, and God applies the Blood of Jesus Christ over our sins, to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I John 1: 9 We can start over again in newness of life.

And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.”

I John 3: 22 Holy Bible KJV
